Terms and Conditions for Application
By submitting your application to Arthina – The Athens Street Art Pop-Up Museum, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Eligibility
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Submissions are open to artists of all disciplines, as long as their concept aligns with the exhibition’s immersive, innovative, and experiential approach.
Submission Requirements
Applications must include:
- A portfolio (PDF or link) showcasing previous work.
- A detailed concept description for the proposed room design.
Submission deadline: 10/01/2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
Room Design and Installation
- Each selected artist will be assigned a room of approximately 20 m² to design and transform into a unique artistic space.
- Installation period: February 1, 2025, to March 15, 2025. This period is critical to allow for promotional photography and final preparations.
- All installations must comply with safety regulations and building integrity standards. Unsafe installations will not be permitted.
Temporary Nature of the Artwork
Artists acknowledge that the artworks created for Arthina will be destroyed at the end of the exhibition period, as part of the project’s conceptual framework. This includes the destruction of artworks and any internal structures or walls utilized during installation.
Financial Terms
- The museum will provide a basic setup budget for each selected artist. Specific details will be shared closer to the exhibition date.
- Any additional expenses (materials, transportation, installation) beyond the basic budget are the artist’s responsibility.
Revenue Sharing:
- Participating artists will receive a share of the profits from ticket sales and souvenir sales. Detailed revenue-sharing terms will be disclosed only to selected artists.
- Artists may supply merchandise (prints, posters, clothing, etc.) related to their work. Profits from merchandise sales will be split between the artist and the museum.
Art Approval and Autonomy
- The museum’s curatorial team must approve the proposed artwork and room design.
- Once approved, the museum will not interfere with the artist’s creative process or execution.
- Artists are responsible for the design and installation of their work, subject to the museum's approval process.
Intellectual Property
Artists retain full ownership of their artworks. By participating, artists grant Arthina the right to use images, videos, and promotional materials of their works for marketing and publicity, both during and after the exhibition.
Merchandise and Sales
- Artists are encouraged to supply merchandise related to their work for sale in the museum’s shop.
- Alternatively, artists may provide their own merchandise, with profits shared according to an agreed-upon split. Detailed terms will be provided to selected artists.
Selection Process
- Applications will be reviewed by the museum’s curation team. Selection criteria include creativity, feasibility, and alignment with the exhibition's vision.
- Selected artists will be notified by January 15, 2025.
- The museum reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding artist selection.
Confidentiality
To protect the innovative nature of Arthina, all details regarding financial terms, artwork specifics, and exhibition concepts will be shared only with selected artists. Artists agree not to disclose any information related to the exhibition until authorized by the museum.
Commitment
Selected artists must commit to the entire preparation, installation, and exhibition process. Artists must meet all deadlines, including the completion of their design by March 15, 2025, and maintain ongoing communication with the museum team.
Cancellation Policy
The museum reserves the right to cancel or modify exhibition dates or details due to unforeseen circumstances. Artists will be notified promptly of any changes.
